silver and gold

Dan and I were discussing what color digital camera to pick: silver or gold...

Isaac piped up from the other side of the room, "Well, I know which one you have to choose. Silver, because it costs less than gold."

(the funny thing is on some of the websites the silver camera is actually more expensive for some reason)

The Superbowl

We aren't the biggest fans of watching sports on TV. I was paying a bit of attention to what was going on during the recent Superbowl...mostly because I didn't want to miss the 3-D commercials that were on immediately following the 2nd quarter. We checked in to make sure we wouldn't miss it and because of that I was able to see that great play where they ran the ball almost the entire length of the field. As we were sitting there waiting for the 3-D to come it, it just seemed photo worthy...so here we are.

The 3-D commercials, well... they were okay.

If I were...

If I were...
An racehorse, my name would be... Speedy.
A season, I'd be... spring.
A piece of furniture, I'd be... chair.
A time of day, I'd be... morning.
A salesperson, I'd be selling... pets.
A teacher, I'd teach... animals.
A place to eat, I'd be... Ruttles.
A kind of car, I'd be a... solar energy car.

how do you like needles?

So... injections are something new in my life. Besides trying to lead as healthy and low stress life as possible there are a few medications that can be taken for MS that can slow its progression. I (along with my doctor) decided it was time for me to start one of those medications. The downside is that they are all injectable medications that are taken anywhere from once a week to each day. Again, along with my doctor, we chose the daily medication based on the results it has had in the past and more than anything the side effects should be easier to tolerate with this one.

I learned how to give myself the injections 2 weeks ago and have been doing it since. It certainly isn't fun, but it isn't so bad. The worst side effects I've experienced of this shot are the injection site reactions. The shot itself isn't painful, but about a minute or so after it starts to sting A LOT and lasts for about 30 minutes. Sometimes it itches, develops a bump and it can hurt like a bruise the next day, but I am happy to give myself these shots if it helps to prevent some future MS episodes and that will help keep my brain healthy. (the other medications I could have picked from all have side effects of flu like symptoms, they can be hard on your liver and can cause depression)

sad update

Has it been that long already since I last posted? Many things have been keeping my life busy and my mind filled lately. There is one thing that is hard to write about, but needs to be said...

Last week, my cousin Sunny died...
She was only 30...
They are thinking right now that it was a heart attack...
I still can't believe that it happened...
My thoughts have not left her husband and her family...
