Good News!

On Monday, I had another MRI of my brain and c-spine (the neck portion of my spine). I met with my Neurologist on Wednesday to find out the results. It turns out that nothing had changed. I still have two teeny tiny spots in my brain and a small lesion/scar toward the top of my spine. Since there has been no change it gives more evidence that what happened at the beginning of the year was most likely a "Clinically Isolated Syndrome" of MS. Because of the lesion/scar I still have some random numbness and tingling. Also, stress and illness cause my symptoms to flair up more. However, my doctor considers me to NOT have MS at this time. There is the chance that it could progress to definite MS, but it has not made any progression for now. She is going to watch me for a few years to make sure that nothing is happening. I will have another MRI in March. Hopefully it will be the same good news then.

Now, imagine it with a much smaller diameter tunnel and a cage covering my head that immobilized my head and neck. Oh, and you can't forget the IV used to administer the contrast that they decided to place right in the nice sensitive spot near the base of my thumb. Doesn't it sound like a fun way to spend 90 minutes. The cage did have a little mirror on it though, so I had a nice view of the long well lit tunnel. :)
